A poem, based off of @n0isy-gh0st ’s Absinthe and Chocolate
Purple
Bright, vibrant, hesitant
A child king, unsure of the power he wields

Monarch butterfly
Bright and colorful, a psychedelic dream

But it draws me in,
I need to taste you
Children’s laughter,
A bright and melodious call
Birds singing, drawing me in
“Eat
Me”
I must experience Wonderland
I bite, and you are not sweet and creamy
You are an illusion
A monarch butterfly
You are bitter, sour, rancid,

You are grainy, coppery blood taste
Curdled milk
Venus flytrap
You draw me in with sweet smell
And now I am caught in your web

To spit you out,
But you have consumed me
The bitter taste has fused onto my tongue
It is a fever dream
The bite is sweet on my tongue
Because I know that
You
Are
Caught
Too
For I am bitter as well,
And the sickly sweetness is addicting
Your taste has tainted me,
I am never the same,
I have been consumed
You are absinthe,
Drawing me in, psychedelic, bitter taste,
And now I am in Wonderland,
An acid-trip,
Addicted, a painful pleasure,
For you are made of chocolate
And so you are life and death
I consume you,
Just as you have consumed me
